history

The Association began in 2001 when it was recognized that the firefighters of the Town of Hilton Head Island needed a legitimate vehicle to raise and donate money, equipment and in-kind services to local charities and to promote the involvement and perception of the firefighters within the community.

On July 14, 2003 the Association was incorporated in the State of South Carolina as a public charity and subsequently obtained 501(c)(3) designation from the federal government. Since our inception, we have granted over $600,000.00 in cash donations or life safety equipment.  Our overhead costs are extremely low which allows us to give back nearly all of the money we raise.

The Hilton Head Firefighters’ Association could not have done any of this without the continued support and participation from its members. Our community is blessed with a great organization and an amazing group of firefighters, their families and friends.
